As with any major remodel, one of the greatest challenges on this home was to transition the existing home into the owners' vision and dream; in this case a classic traditional waterfront home. The goal was to
incorporate as much of the existing home as
possible while creating new spaces on the main
and upper level, and updating the lower level.
The superb use of space with the floor plan of this home allows for daily family living in comfort, as well as a living room, dining room and expansive decks for formal indoor / outdoor entertaining. The spacious gourmet kitchen is designed for visibility to the yard and lakefront, the formal dining room for entertaining, as well as directly accessible to the family room activities. What started out as a 1960's 2800 square foot rambler became a classic Seattle Waterfront home. Partnering with the owners, Steve Gwinn and the team at MatchPoint created a home, with optimum Lake Washington and Mount Rainier views while ensuring the quality features, components and functionality of a spacious and comfortable traditional home. Extensive woodwork, architectural details and attention to consistency and perfection were the minimum demands of this project.
